The big news this week is the Treasure Island Music Festival.
Both days are going to be great, but I am probably most excited about saturday: MGMT, Girl Talk, Dan Deacon and Passion Pit.
Tuesday: Devotchka @ the Warfield
I think Devotchka is opening for the Pogues for this show. I'm not a huge fan of the Warfield, but I think Devotchka might be good live.
Thursday: Moby @ The Warfield
Another show at the Warfield. Honestly, if Moby was playing somewhere else I'd be really excited about going. I'm just not psyched to go to the Warfield.
Saturday: Monsters of Folk @ the Fox Theater
If you are not going to Treasure Island you should be at the this show. Monsters of folk is made up of: Connor Oberst and Jim Mogis (of Bright Eyes), Jim James (of My Morning Jacket) and M. Ward (of...M. Ward). This should be a great show (although, expect alot of sitting since its at the fox theater).
Saturday: Why? @ The Great American Music Hall
Finally, if you're not at either Treasure Island or Monsters of Folk, you should try to check out Why? I haven't seen them, but really liked last years album and I've featured them on a couple Midweek music fixes.
