Midweek music fix - Mid October Edition

Lots of new music, but limited time. And, if its not clear after listening and reading. You should probably pick up the big pink this week. The record is awesome.

A Brief History of Love - The Big Pink. This is my album of the moment.

Gypsy Hand - Woods. I like this album more and more. I think this is song 3.

At Least I'm Not As Sad As I Used To Be - fun. Sometimes you just know on first listen. This song depressing, sarcastic, female backup singers and they all just sound like hipsters...or they're making fun of hipsters...or both. I'm not a prophet, But I'm here to profit, that all!

Dominos - The Big Pink. Expect more from this band on this blog. The drums, combined with lyrics like "As soon as I love her, its been too long." You need to buy the album. You can buy A Brief History Of Love at Amazon for $9.99; lala.com for $7.49, or on itunes for $9.99 (I don't know how to link to itunes, so you'll have to find it yourself). You get a bonus track with itunes, but I'm not sure its worth more than $2. So, I'd go with lala.com.

Ecstacy - JJ. I thought I'd love this album. Its good, not great. But, this is a great song.

Cause = Time - Broken Social Scene. This album was on the pitchfork best of 2000s list.

Generator ^ First Floor - Freelance Whales. I don't know who this band is. I got the song for free from stereogum. I love this song and I think love this band.

Race Car Grin, You Ain't No Landmark - Modest Mouse. I just picked up this album this weekend. Its abunch of lo-fi modest mouse.
