Midweek music fix - Sept 3

This weeks fix is short on descriptions. But hoping you like it.
New albums I am listening to: Modest Mouse, Nobody's First and You're Next
Shows I am looking forward to: I'm psyched to see Phoenix in a couple weeks, potential Wavves this weekend.
Disappointing Concert fact: Another weekend of not seeing Pearl Jam

The Whale Song - Modest Mouse. I am still digging this modest mouse EP of B-Sides and what nots. This song is noisey with droning guitars

Wake - The Antlers. Another great song from the Antlers album...that is depressing. I have no idea what this dude on the antlers went through but it sounds like it involved alot of hospitols and sadness.

Where is My Mind - The Pixies. Last night I was watching a show on Palladium that featured the pixies at Coachella (2007?) playing this song.

Suicide - Raveonettes. There are alot of shows coming up that I'm excited about, but the Raveonettes is one I might be most excited about (and incidentally the album I am probably most looking forward to).

My Will Is Good - Port O'Brien. Port O'Brien is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. When they come back to San Francisco, I'll see them again.

Cool Jumper - Wavves. Wavves are alitte out there and I believe had a bit of a breakdown at the pitchfork fest this summer. But they make some pretty interesting and innovative music. I'm excited about potentially seeing them this weekend.

Girlfriend - Phoenix. Super psyched to see Phoenix in a couple of weeks. I think this is the 4th Phoenix song I've posted.

Throw Your Arms Around Me - Pearl Jam. Another weekend of missing Pearl Jam. I've never heard this song live but I think this cover is fantastic. In one version eddie says this song reminds him of summer. Summer is just wrapping up in the rest of the country, but its just starting in the bay area.
