Midweek music fix

New music that I am into: Hospice, The Antlers
Classic Album that I am listening to: Bee Thousand, Guided By Voices
Concert Excitement: Pete Yorn's show on monday night was great; looking forward to seeing either Wavves, Matthew Dear or Rogue Wave next week
Concert Disappointment: Missed Pearl Jam in Chicago last weekend, missing Pearl Jam in San Francisco this weekend

Long Road - Pearl Jam. This was the opener for last weekend's pearl jam show. A great way to start, what sounds like was a great show.

Satellite Skin - Modest Mouse. Modest Mouse has a new EP out with previously unreleased material and I love this song. I posted the dave letterman in a midweek music fix earlier, but i like the song so much that I had to post the album version.

Bear - The Antlers.
Another sad song from The Antlers. Great line: And all the while i'll know we're f*cked/And not getting unf*cked soon.

These are my twisted words - Radiohead. Radiohead just release a great song on their website. Both radiohead and wilco are taking victory laps right now.

Tractor Rape Chain - Guided By Voices. I've been listening to Bee Thousand alot lately. A great album.

For Nancy ('Cos it already is) - Pete Yorn. Pete Yorn end his show with this song. This song rocks.

Lazy Eye - Silversun Pickups. Scott Orn had this on last week's KennyKellogg Friday Chill Music. It was a great playlist (I posted it here) I love the noisey guitar at the end.

Kill - Jimmy Eat World. This is a great (admitted sorta emo-ish) song about a dude falling (or who has falllen) for a girl that isn't that into him and there are some fantastic lyrics that perfectly capture some critical moments from the first couple, "well you're just across the street/looks a mile to my feet" to thinking of calling, but not calling, "I pick up put down the phone/Like your favorite Heatmeiser song goes"

Wavin'Flag (live) - K'Naan. I posted the album of this song earlier, but talked about this amazing live version from SXSW. Thanks to my colleague, sherwin, we have the version from SXSW. Such an amazing song. And, huge hat tip to Sherwin for getting me this version.
