Monday: Papercuts and Beach House @ Bottom of The Hill
I've seen the papercuts once already and they're great. I love Bottom of the Hill. Should be a good show.
Tuesday: Ghostface Killah @ Slims
I have no idea what this show will be like. But, I am sure its interesting.
Friday: Islands @ Bottom of the Hill
Canadian Indie Rock at Bottom of the Hill.
Saturday: Ben Gibbard and Jay Farrer @ Bimbos 365 Club
This could be the show of the week. Ben Gibbard and Jay Farrer have released an album based on Jack Kerouac writings in the book Big Sur. Should be cool to hear them play at a landmark san francisco club. I haven't listened to the album yet, but I have high hopes since the last time Ben Gibbard did a side project, we ended up with the Postal Service.
Saturday and Sunday: Bridge School Benefit.
There are some good bands here: the Monsters of Folk (who rocked the fox theater last night) and Fleet Foxes. However, I can't get too excited about spending a day all the way down in Mountain View at Shoreline (one of my least favorite concert venues) to see artists like jimmy buffet, chris martin and Sheryl crow. Bridge School made the list for 2 reasons: 1. Its bridge school; cool things happen, interesting performances, a day of music is never a good thing. 2. Monsters of Folk. The show was amazing last night. However, part of what I loved about the show last night was how they mixed up, playing non- MOF songs. I am not sure thats going to happen at Bridge School given the likely short setlist (usually bands are given 45 mins to - 1 hr).
